What is CommuteShare?
CommuteShare helps people in South Africa share journeys they are already making. Find a driver going your way, or offer the spare seats in your own car. It is a way to plan a shared lift, rather than an on-demand taxi service.
How do I pay for my ride?
Agree on the price and payment method with your driver before you travel. You pay the driver directly. CommuteShare does not collect or hold money for new rides.
Can I be both a driver and a passenger?
Yes. Choose both when you join. You can find a lift on some days and offer seats on others. Before offering rides, you’ll need to add your car and have its details reviewed.
What if my plans change?
Open My trips, choose your booking, and use the cancel option if it is available. Let the other person know as early as you can. If a journey has already started, use the help options on the trip page.
